갑문에서 성과 말 그대로 푸른 도나우 강까지 아름다운 전망이 펼쳐집니다. 양쪽 모두 매우 좋은 자전거 도로가 있지만, 주의하세요. 전체 구간에 걸쳐 햇볕과 바람에 대한 보호 장치가 없습니다.

Easy descent, relatively little traffic!

The bridge over the Danube near Emmersdorf an der Donau connects the town of Emmersdorf on the north bank with Melk on the south bank and is an important section for cyclists along the Danube Cycle Path. The bridge is part of the main road and features a separate, well-secured pedestrian and cycle path, allowing for safe crossing of the Danube. From the bridge, there is an impressive view of the Danube river landscape – particularly popular with cyclists traveling between the Wachau and the Nibelungengau regions. The route is well signposted in both directions, towards Klein-Pöchlarn/Ybbs and Spitz/Krems. Thanks to its direct connection to the Danube Cycle Path, the bridge is a key crossing point between the northern and southern sections of the Wachau and facilitates crossing to the other side of the river on a scenic stretch of the route.

A bike ride to the Klangturm (Sound Tower) in St. Pölten is a worthwhile stop on any tour of the city. The 77-meter-high tower in the government district was built in 1996 by architect Ernst Hoffmann and is a striking example of modern architecture in Lower Austria. Its glass, spiral shape evokes movement and sound, which is how the tower got its name. An elevator or stairs lead to the viewing platform, which offers panoramic views of St. Pölten and the Alpine foothills. The ground floor houses a tourist information center, and spacious squares and green areas around the tower invite visitors to linger – ideal for a short break during a bike tour through the city.

Of course, the observation deck next to the transmitter is more interesting.
