From Moos you have the most beautiful view of the village of Weißensee, as well as the Falkenstein (1268 m) with castle and the Salober (1288 m) as a further backdrop.

The Weißensee is a 2.3 km long lake with a circumference of 6.1 km in the Ostallgäu district in Bavaria west of Füssen on the northern edge of the Alps. The higher Alatsee is only 500 meters further south. The name Weißensee either comes from its shimmering white appearance due to deposited lime or can be explained by the fact that an Alemanne named Wizo settled here around around 600 AD. The lake is located in the landscape protection area that protects parts of the landscape in the area of the city of Füssen and the communities of Weissensee, Eisenberg and Pfronten in the Füssen district. In 753, the Franconian King Pippin bequeathed the lake and its surrounding area to Bishop Wikterp of Augsburg in favor of the newly created monastery cell of St. Mang. After many changes, the city of Füssen finally acquired the lake with fishing rights from private hands in 1928. The Weissensee owes its shape primarily to the ice ages and especially to the Lech glacier, which dead ice probably played a role in shaping. With a length of 2.2 kilometers from east to west, an average width of almost 600 meters and a depth of up to 25 meters, it covers an area of 1.35 square kilometers and has a catchment area of almost 15 square kilometers. Whitefish, zander, pike, eels, tench, char, lake trout and carp live in it, while swans, grebes, coots and several species of wild ducks cavort on it. In summer the lake is used intensively as a swimming lake by both locals and tourists. In winter people go ice skating on it. The lake can be circled on a hiking trail, the Weißensee circular path.
