A diverse nature reserve with wet meadows, small ponds, dry sandy areas, and sparse forests extends around the Pantener Moorweiher. The landscape was created through earlier soil extraction and renaturation. Today, tree frogs, sand lizards, and various rare bird species live here, among others. A hiking trail leads through the southern area. There are information boards at several locations, and a platform invites observation. A local association is responsible for maintenance.

7월 7, 2025, Elbe-Lübeck-Kanal bei Kühsen
The Elbe-Lübeck Canal dominates the landscape around Kühsen. Since 1900, it has connected the Elbe and Trave rivers, flowing peacefully through fields and meadows. Today, it is primarily used by pleasure boats. A well-developed hiking trail runs directly along the shore, ideal for longer walks—whether toward Lauenburg or Lübeck. The tranquil setting and waterfront views make the canal a popular spot for excursions and outdoor breaks.

2월 9, 2025, St. Johannes Church Nusse
The first reliable documented mention of Nusse was in 1194 in a contract between the Ratzeburg bishop and the cathedral chapter. This makes Nusse one of the oldest parishes in the Duchy of Lauenburg district. The original church in Nusse was built around 1250. The first documented mention of the Behlendorf parish, however, only appeared in the Ratzeburg bishop's tax of 1319. The current church replaces the original building, which was demolished in 1837 after a vault collapsed. The new building was built in 1838/39 using the old foundation walls. A three-aisled hall made of fieldstone and brick was created with a raised central nave and a recessed polygonal choir. As a result of the flat angle of inclination of the side roofs, moisture damage occurred to the masonry, so that reconstruction was necessary. In 1914/15, a uniformly high roof was built that arched over all three naves and a mighty tower was built on the west side, which was drawn into the nave. The interior furnishings are essentially from the time when the church was built. The late classicist pulpit altar, which, like the organ, was made by Theodor Vogt from Lübeck, is noteworthy. The classicist vase-shaped baptismal font was also created by C. A: Schönemann in 1839 especially for the new church. It replaced a baptismal font from the 13th century, which was still there but was badly damaged. A wooden crucifix (15th century) and two paintings (Annunciation, 1st half of the 16th century; Last Supper, 17th century) were taken from the previous church. Also worth mentioning is the picture of Pastor Andreas Sartori from 1898. https://www.kirche-ll.de/gemeinden/lauenburg/nusse-behlendorf/gemeindeleben/geschichte.html

2월 9, 2021, Elbe-Lübeck-Kanal bei Kühsen
The Elbe-Lübeck Canal (ELK, 1900–1936: Elbe-Trave Canal) is a 61.55 km long Class III federal waterway from Lauenburg/Elbe at Elbe km 569.23 to Lübeck in the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It provides a link for inland navigation between the Elbe and the Baltic Sea. The foundation stone of the canal, which the citizens of Lübeck viewed as a competitor to the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal, was ceremoniously laid on May 31, 1895. Mayor Heinrich Klug opened it in Lübeck on June 16, 1900, in the presence of the Kaiser. The Stecknitz and Delvenau rivers are largely merged into the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. The inland waterway, known until 1936 as the Elbe-Trave Canal, shortened the distance to 62 kilometers, reduced the number of locks to seven, and reduced the travel time to approximately eight hours. A technology that was highly advanced for its time and has proven itself to this day, with purely hydrodynamic (only water power) locks and generously dimensioned bridges designed by construction inspector Ludwig Hotopp, made the canal seem exemplary for a long time. The canal's current significance is rather limited, as the lock and bridge dimensions, which are small by today's standards, do not allow for economical container transport, and only smaller inland vessels with a load capacity of up to 1,000 tons can pass through the canal. The canal is also used by recreational boaters between the Baltic Sea and the Elbe River (approximately 5,000–6,000 boats per year). https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbe-L%C3%BCbeck-Kanal

2월 9, 2021, Elbe-Lübeck-Kanal bei Kühsen
The village of Kühsen was first documented in 1230. However, the Stone Age settlements discovered in Kühsen's territory prove that the place was inhabited long before that. One of the most noteworthy events of the post-war period was certainly the discovery of a bog body during drainage work in the immediate vicinity of the village in the 1960s. Bends, elevations, and curves give the village character and beauty. The coat of arms depicts characteristic features of the community, such as the seven farmhouses arranged in a circle on the Brink and the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. The village community center has been the center of the village since 1995. In addition to sufficient space for the fire department and the kindergarten, it offers a large common room for various activities for residents. The Kühsen Lake, the Karpfenkuhle, serves as a swimming area in the summer and an ice skating rink in the cold winters. The Elbe-Lübeck Canal was built in 1900 to create a navigable connection between the Elbe River near Lauenburg and the Trave River near Lübeck. Today, it is used almost exclusively by pleasure boats. In the area of the small community of Kühsen, it flows through a landscape dominated by fields and meadows. A very beautiful hiking trail runs along the canal bank. Those who wish can walk along the canal for several kilometers between Lauenburg and Lübeck. www.amt-sandesneben-nusse.de/gemeinde-kuehsen https://www.fisch-hitparade.de/gewaesser/elbe-luebeck-kanal-kuehsen

In the endorsement certificate of the diocese of Ratzeburg 1158, a church in Nusse was first mentioned. At the beginning of the 13th century, a large Romanesque church was built on the foundations that have been preserved until today. In 1230 the parish Nusse was listed in the Ratzeburg tithe register. From 1370 to the Greater Hamburg Law in 1937, the church village of Nusse was an exclave to the Free and Hanseatic City of Lübeck. In 1531 the area was given its own Reformation church order by Johannes Bugenhagen. In 1774, the Lübeck City Councilor Johann Adam Soherr built a west tower on the church. A large fire damaged the church in 1821 and destroyed 51 houses in the village. The church then partially collapsed and was then blown up in 1836. In the following years a new building was built, designed by the Lübeck city architect Anton Spetzler. He created a three-aisle building in late-classicist and Romanesque forms, with a wide central nave spanned by a wooden barrel vault and a heavily retracted apse. The walls are divided by pillars and arched windows. The side aisles are divided by a gallery and have separate side and stairwells at both ends. The inauguration took place on September 8, 1839. The new building initially received only one roof tab. The mighty new tower in the church roof with hipped gable roof in the homeland protection style was built in 1914/15 after a renovation by the Lübeck building councilor Carl Mühlenpfordt. The local priest, Pastor Harder, and his late wife donated the large crucifix over the altar structure. The dedication service was held on December 19, 1915 by the Lübeck senior Johannes Becker. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirche_Nusse
