The information on the boards is very interesting for lovers of Prussian history. There is a restaurant in the house with a terrace that offers a beautiful view over Lake Jungfernsee.

Since 1841, the Prussian royal family operated this station on the Jungfernsee through military personnel as a departure and supply station for pleasure trips. From 1890, Emperor Wilhelm II had his sailors' station rebuilt in the Norwegian dragon style. The model was an Oslo restaurant. A reception hall (Ventehalle), a boathouse, a sailors' barracks and the ship's cabin were built. The Imperial Sailors' Station was the Hohenzollern sailing club's home. The Emperor himself was a passionate sailor. After the First World War, the sailors' station was used by members of the Imperial Yacht Club. In 1945, the small boathouse on the Jungfernsee and the Ventehalle burned down and remained destroyed. The last remains of the building were later demolished. After the Wall was built, the GDR's border fortifications ran along this spot. The area was not accessible to the public. Since reunification, access to the Jungfernsee has been possible again. The ensemble was extensively reconstructed and rebuilt true to the original according to historical plans.

Very idyllic

Follow the path around the edge of the Havel on a fine Summer's day for a lovely ride. This part is tarmac'd until the Ferry to the Pfaueninsel.

The tower is now made of stone

A piece of Norway on the Havel. In particular, the reception hall, which was rebuilt in 2018, is an eye-catcher. The sailor's station, originally built between 1891 and 1895, is now complete again.

The bridge leads over the Hasengraben, which connects the Holy See with the Lower Havel and its Jungfernsee. The barrage is also located here, so that not too much water flows towards the Havel. If the water level in the Holy Lake were too low, the wooden foundation piles of the Marble Palace would be at risk of drying out.
