The Schwanenbrücke forms a crossing over the Hasengraben between the Neuer Garten park and the Schwanenallee.

Ludwig Persius built the Court Gardener's and Machine House between 1836 and 1838 for the earliest large steam engine plant in Potsdam after the Peacock Island for operating water features. The building is Persius' first independent construction and at the same time one of his major works.

The information on the boards is very interesting for lovers of Prussian history. There is a restaurant in the house with a terrace that offers a beautiful view over Lake Jungfernsee.

Since 1841, the Prussian royal family operated this station on the Jungfernsee through military personnel as a departure and supply station for pleasure trips. From 1890, Emperor Wilhelm II had his sailors' station rebuilt in the Norwegian dragon style. The model was an Oslo restaurant. A reception hall (Ventehalle), a boathouse, a sailors' barracks and the ship's cabin were built. The Imperial Sailors' Station was the Hohenzollern sailing club's home. The Emperor himself was a passionate sailor. After the First World War, the sailors' station was used by members of the Imperial Yacht Club. In 1945, the small boathouse on the Jungfernsee and the Ventehalle burned down and remained destroyed. The last remains of the building were later demolished. After the Wall was built, the GDR's border fortifications ran along this spot. The area was not accessible to the public. Since reunification, access to the Jungfernsee has been possible again. The ensemble was extensively reconstructed and rebuilt true to the original according to historical plans.
