On display is a fascinating collection of tin figures depicting the Celtic settlement "Houbirg". There are also many rare exhibits from the prehistoric excavation site in Hunas. This is a site where living quarters have been found that are between 130,000 and 260,000 years old. A new permanent exhibition is "In the Realm of Darkness", which focuses intensively on the caves of the Franconian Jura. From the skull of a cave bear to a fully equipped cave explorer, you can find out everything you need to know about the "underworld" here.

From the edge of the former upper basin you have a magnificent view. The upper basin of the Happurg pumped storage power plant has been drained since 2011 because cracks had formed. Since then, repairs have been repeatedly postponed.

The forest near Eschenbach is always broken up by beautiful forest meadows. The bizarre rocks on the Koppe create a wonderful mix of landscapes.
