The Innerstetalsperre is a dam on the Innerste, which is located near Langelsheim and Wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains. It was built from 1963 to 1966 and belongs to the Harzwasserwerke. Their purpose is to provide drinking water, flood protection, increase low water levels and generate electricity. The average annual discharge from the Innerste Dam is 60 million m³. 105 kilometers by bike from the Upper Harz Mountains to the Leine Valley

The Innerstetalbahn was a branch line that led from the northern Harz foreland into the Upper Harz. It was also known as the "Oberharzbahn" or simply "Harzbahn". This approximately 34 km long standard gauge railway was once a very important traffic artery in the western part of the Harz Mountains. It connected numerous mountain towns in the Upper Harz. The cycle path was opened in 2013.

For me, the Innerster Cycle Path between Wildemann and Langelsheim is one of the most beautiful cycle paths in the Goslar district. It doesn't run directly along the road, even though it's right next to it for most of its stretch. However, since it runs along the former railway line, the path is secluded enough and lined with trees to allow you to cycle through beautiful nature.
