The MS "Friedrich Harkort" is a passenger ship that is used on Lake Harkort. In the warm season it offers boat trips between the “Am Schiffswinkel” pier in Herdecke and the mouth of the Lenne. The ship bears the name of the industrial pioneer Friedrich Harkort and is part of the leisure and tourism offering at Lake Harkort.

The Harkortsee is one of many smaller lakes that are created by barrages in the quiet and are intended to keep the level of the Ruhr stable. A beautiful bike and footpath leads around the Harkortsee. The railway viaduct over the lake is also impressive. The Harkort Tower high above the lake is also worth a visit, as is the climbing forest directly at the Harkort Tower.
