Anyone who wants even more beautiful views, perhaps from a bench, can easily cycle around the lake.

Lake Mastholter, erroneously called "Benteler See" after its owner, Willi Benteler, is not a natural body of water. An artificial body of water was created on an approximately 25-hectare site for the commercial extraction of sand, the first in the Gütersloh district. The Mastholter See recreation area is ideal for surfing, sailing, and stand-up paddling. A 2.7-km circular hiking trail offers walks, cycling, jogging, and Nordic walking. Benches invite you to take a break overlooking the water.

Beautiful spot and beautiful sunset

The castle is for the altar boys in the region and is therefore abbreviated to Miniburg. You can play table football, table tennis, volleyball, etc. there. It has its own toilets and seating. The area is closed off, but a very nice place for the altar boys.

Mastholter Lake has a wonderfully located circular path very close to the water. Perfect for pedestrians and cyclists. Very beautiful, idyllic, and flat.

Even today, boundary stones are still very useful for surveying and orientation.

The Mastholter See is located within the Ems sand plain in the south of the Gütersloh district and, with an area of around 26.6 hectares, represents the largest water area in the district Westenholz to the city of Delbrück. Although the body of water lies in the catchment area of the Glenne, there is no direct connection to a river.
