Schwedenschanze is a common popular name for old ramparts, the origin of which was not exactly known. The rampart next to the refuge is the actual Schwedenschanze and was probably only built around 1673.

The moated castle Tatenhausen is on the edge of the Tatenhauser forest south of Halle / Westf. The castle offers an imposing appearance. In the Tatenhauser Wald there are paths for hiking and cycling. However, some paths are only suitable for hikers.

That should be a great restaurant - hopefully they'll open again below the Luisenturm after the lockdown. Wonderful view from up here!
