Access to the dam from the B 156 with parking. From here, you can walk to the beach or circumnavigate the dam on foot or by bike. Cyclists who would like to continue their journey further can continue from the circumnavigate route to Bautzen or the surrounding area, for example, towards the Malschwitz Ponds, and then return here. The cycle paths are very well developed and signposted.

On our tour the dam had high water levels, so unfortunately we were unable to walk through the ford. If you want to go there, you should definitely find out about the water level in the dam.

Easy to use at low water levels, with a good view of the dam. At normal/high water levels, it is better to use the parallel path on land. 😉

We were lucky today (mid-October 2023) and were able to use the path. Great view over the water.
