One of the tastiest places in the area. We ate here three times, and absolutely everything was delicious. The extensive menu, open until about 2 p.m. (?) and starting at 5:30 p.m., is fantastic. The service is very friendly and attentive; a chicken or duck occasionally stops by, and there are plenty of toys for the kids.

From the Wildkogelbahn mountain station, hike west along the wide alpine path towards the Wolkenstein guesthouse. From there, follow a comfortable hiking trail to the Herrensteigscharte. Continue over the flat ridge to the Steinfeldjoch, which lies at the foot of the large Rettenstein. Now steeply downhill to the Madl Hochalm and from here follow the alpine path to the Baumgartenalm. This offers a good opportunity for a cozy stop. From here you can take the hiking taxi to Bramberg, or descend the alpine path through the Mühlbachtal in around 2 hours. Connection options: 1) Herrensteigscharte - Geigenscharte - Neukirchen. 2) Steinfeldjoch - Baumgartenalm 3) Herrensteigscharte - Schöntaljoch - Gr. Rettenstein - Baumgartenalm (additional walking time for the ascent approx. 1.5 hours.

The Frühmesser is located in the Kitzbühel Alps on the border with Salzburg. Beautiful and long climb from the Stieralm in the Unterer Grund to the Westeracheralm and into the Geigenscharte. Very scenic ridge hike over the Grasleitenkopf towards the south to the summit. Great views, especially towards the Großvenediger with its wide glacier areas. The summit is also very popular to visit from the lift area of Neukirchen am Großvenediger.
