Towards the end of the Second World War, St. Stephen's Crown, the scepter and the imperial orb were buried at the foot of the Unersee Hill in Mattsee. After American troops arrived in May 1945, the crown treasure was handed over to them and returned to Hungary in 1978. In 1983, a monument was erected on the Unerseehügel, which was moved to the foot of the Schlossberg in 2009, with a wonderful view of the site.

Admittedly next to the main road but safely on the bike path, we practically cross both lakes. Obertrumer on the left, Mattsee on the right (driving north).

Certainly one of the most beautiful places around the Mattsee. Ideal for a rest and for swimming! It is your own fault who drives by.

Wonderful little oasis of peace with seating and the Bavarian farmsteads. Passage by bike allowed!
