Partially new road surface, it rolls absolutely great. Interesting facts about the dam: The Philipsdam is part of the Delta Works. It separates the Krammer and Volkerak waterways from the Oosterschelde and runs between the Grevelingendam and the Sint-Philipsland. In 1976, construction began on a work island on the Plaat van Vliet. After that, the Krammer locks were built for inland shipping. These were completed in 1983 and opened to traffic on February 2, 1987, after the dyke construction work was completed. In 1994, another lock was built for recreational shipping. The locks work with a water exchange system that prevents salt water from the Oosterschelde from flowing into the Volkerak. The heavier salt water is sucked out from below or the fresh water from above, depending on the direction the ships are traveling. Good surface, little traffic, there would be nothing to complain about if you didn't get the wind from the front. But if it pushes from behind, then you're grinning all the time...

After my former main pavilion Meerzicht (today Puur) closed the terrace at least now, in mid-September, we drove on to the Grevelingen restaurant. This is highly recommended, the toilets are very clean. There is something for every taste here. There is a self-service area and a service area for special occasions. For the evening hours invites a bar. Furthermore, the restaurant has a very large and beautiful outdoor terrace, which is very comfortable, with sun loungers and a couch. From here you have a beautiful view of Bruinisse and the Grevelingenmeer. An absolute recommendation if you go on a trip and just want to relax and enjoy! I will always be happy to come back here, especially since the staff is very friendly.

Don't hit this huge bridge in a head wind. You will regret it.
