Top restaurant with very friendly service

Located on a large meadow, it features Heuriger benches and self-service tables, but the service is friendly. Simple but excellent dishes at a fair price. Good wines – from inexpensive draft wines to premium wines. Parking is available right in front.

The community of Loretto itself has fewer than 500 inhabitants, but an estimated 100,000 pilgrims are counted here each year. The biggest pilgrimage days are the "Great Women's Day" (Assumption of Mary) on August 15th, when between 15,000 and 20,000 people come to Loretto, the Feast of the Nativity of Mary on September 8th, and the "Croatian Sunday", the pilgrimage of the Burgenland Croats, on the third Sunday in September. Many of the pilgrims still come on foot today. It seems that I picked a special day for my visit today. I was completely alone, not a soul to be seen.
