The church was built in the last third of the 17th century on the foundations of a previous building that has been documented since the 8th century. The building consists of a 22-metre-long, single-nave church building and a 45-metre-high tower attached to the south side of the choir, which is crowned by an onion dome with a lantern. The sacristy is on the north side of the chancel. On the north side of the church is the St. Leonhard Chapel, which was built in 1713 and is structurally connected to it.
