The Jewish cemetery in Walldorf near Meiningen is a silent testament to centuries of Jewish history in the Werra Valley. It was established in the 18th century, and the oldest legible gravestone dates from 1737. On the hill in the Aalleite area, approximately 80 gravestones still lie today, including many historic matzevot (grave grave markers) that recall the once vibrant Jewish community.

The former convent of noblewomen, dating from 1596, is one of the prettiest half-timbered houses in Wasungen.

The historic old town is a protected ensemble, designated as a historical monument. Besides the former convent, the town hall, former aristocratic residences, and half-timbered burgher houses are the main features that define the old town's character. The majority of the listed buildings date from the 16th and early 17th centuries.
