City hall Maisach was first mentioned in a document in 806. Documents from the second half of the 8th century and the first half of the 9th century are also available for the other parts of the municipality except for Gernlinden. The name Gernlinden was first mentioned in 1436. The community was formed with the community edict of 1818.
