A Buddha next to a Christ from the Middle Ages, ancient writings next to calculators... the Museum L, rich in 32,000 pieces, dares the most unprecedented and extraordinary encounters to speak to us about the world and humanity. Works of art are noticeable there, but not only because the visitor can also observe the scientific collections of the UCL. Natural history specimens, archaeological and ethnographic objects or scientific inventions are exhibited on 2,600 m² of the exhibition, in the heart of an emblematic building of modern Belgian architecture. The Museum L is a museum like no other: it is a place for exchanges and for life, dedicated to emotion and exploration.

A monumental version can be found on the right side of the headquarters buildings of the National Bank of Belgium, in Brussels, Belgium. Turning its back on the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule cathedral and looking towards the boulevard de Berlaimont, this 350 cm high statue was inaugurated in 1952. A more modest-sized version stands at Place de l'Accueil in Louvain-la-Neuve, not far from the University Halls. This Woman Seated Nude is a bronze sculpture 1.27 m high. This female nude with a humble gaze, offered by Peter Wilhelm, was installed on the square in 2005 on the occasion of the inauguration of the “L'Esplanade” shopping center. To use the words of the book L'art dans la ville - Promenades à Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve "the artist, now deceased, was celebrated by some as one of the last representatives of classical sculpture" .

The Hergé Museum has passed the 10-year mark! Stroll through this luminous place with particular shapes reminiscent of a suspended vessel, on the edge of the Parc de la Source. The architect Christian de Portzamparc thought of this building as a mental labyrinth linked to the universe of Hergé to reveal its universality, its complexity and its richness. Before even entering the museum, you will be seduced!

We find the most famous cartoonist in comics smiling, his cat on his shoulders, sitting on a pile of albums drawing. If you approach the statue, he smiles at you and you have the impression that he is drawing you. This statue is magnificent and it is not surprising because the sculptor who created it is far from being unknown in Brussels. It is in fact to Tom Frantzen that we owe the statues of Jacques Brel, Madame Chapeau and Zinneke which are so dear to our city center.

Yves du Monceau de Bergendal, mayor of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve from 1958 to 1988, now welcomes your confidences on the shores of Lake Louvain-la-Neuve, just opposite the Aula Magna. Unless he gives you some ideas for the future of the city? It was his son Diégo du Monceau who had this “statue-bench” made (by the English sculptor David Williams-Ellis) and offered it to UCLouvain and the City. Given the context of gradual deconfinement, the inauguration took place in small groups on June 18. In the presence of his wife Countess Rainy du Monceau, aged 94, some representatives of the family, as well as university and municipal authorities.

The second fresco of the Kosmopolite Art Tour 2015 on Place Raymond Lemaire, in colder colors, occupies a wall 9 meters high by 20 meters wide. It is the work of graffiti artists Dourone and Élodie. Dourone is a Spanish graffiti artist named Fabio Lopez who started doing graffiti in 1999 in Madrid and began teaming up with Elodieloll in 2012. Dourone describes his wall as follows: "It's between 8 and 9 meters high high. Our work is made up of many small elements: constellations, hidden faces, the infinity sign... I don't want to say too much for people to make their own interpretation." The fresco is signed “Dourone” at the top left and displays its logo at the bottom right.

Utopia, made with a brush and not a spray, represents two women back to back and is the work of Argentinian artists Mariela Ajras and Milu Correch, originally from Buenos Aires. The two young artists benefited from one of the largest walls offered during the Kosmopolite Art Tour 2015. “Basically, we had the idea of painting a couple. But ultimately, I took photos of two friends, a Portuguese and a Spanish, who serve as models,” explains Milu Correch. For Mariela Ajras, this fresco “is the symbol of temperance, a good value”.
