Easy route to drive.

Nice, car-free route. It drives well.

Drive briskly on the old race track. Not recommended during rush hour.

Not entirely quiet (a lot of through traffic), but thanks to the 30 km/h speed limit throughout the town, you can flow along with the rest of the traffic in a relaxed manner. The surface is mostly very good.

Great idea with the self-carved pass sign. The only thing missing is a small refuge. Is the owner reading this? 😁 It has now been fitted out as an insect hotel, presumably to speed up the slow bikers with "bee stings". 😁

The Solitude race track takes its name from its original start/finish at Solitude Castle. The final route was then laid out in the Mahdental and led from today's ADAC traffic training area via Mahdentalstrasse and Glemseckstrasse, then via Magstadter Strasse back to Mahdentalstrasse over 11.417 km. The first version from Solitude Castle even had a track length of 22.3 km. Both motorcycle and car races took place on this motor racing track, including Formula 1 vehicles in the early 1960s. These Formula 1 races were never part of the world championship calendar. Even today, races are still held here every now and then as part of revivals. The track was officially closed - as a race track - in 1966 and has since been rededicated for public road traffic.
