The fortified structure, built in 1887, was the exact counterpart to the now-vanished caponier at Fischtorplatz and is described in the monument inventory as follows: "It was connected to the Rhine riverbank wall by crenellated wall sections on the sides, which allowed passageways for pedestrians and vehicular traffic. The caponier presents itself as a defensively enclosed structure on an almost square ground plan, its massive masonry facing the Rhine only interrupted by small loopholes. Equipped with a crenellated stair tower and a heavy parapet, the structure, despite its comparatively small dimensions, makes a defiant impression and is reminiscent of medieval castles."

Christ Church was consecrated on July 2, 1903, as the first Protestant church in Mainz. People sought refuge there during two world wars. In February 1945, its copper dome burned for three days. It was rebuilt – with the blessing Christ as its focal point and center of attention. At the beginning of the new century, its interior was renovated: chairs replaced pews, the altar stands beneath the dome, and the congregation gathers in a large circle around it. The space speaks for itself: "We are all the church." In Christ Church, people pray and sing, experience sorrowful hours and moments of pure joy. Christ Church was built between 1897 and 1903 as the first Protestant church in Mainz, based on plans by the city architect Eduard Kreyßig. At the time, it provided space for all Protestant Christians in Mainz and was seen as a counterpart to the Catholic Cathedral, which Christ Church surpasses by almost half a meter. In February 1945, the church was destroyed by bombs. The unique stained-glass windows, which made the light in the church interior so special, were irretrievably lost. But Christ Church was rebuilt. At the beginning of this century, the church interior was redesigned as you see it today. The altar—a work by the artist Erwin Heerich—was placed in the center. The congregation gathers around this altar for worship.

The Hessian State Theatre Wiesbaden in the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden is a five-part theatre. The neo-baroque building was built from 1892 to 1894 by the Prussian King and German Emperor Wilhelm II by the Viennese architectural firm Fellner & Helmer as the Royal Theatre. Today it has four stages: the Large House (1,041 seats), the Small House (328 seats), the Studio (89 seats) and the external stage Wartburg (154 seats, since 2003) on Schwalbacher Straße. It has approximately 600 employees. From August 2014 to January 2024, the director and actor Uwe Eric Laufenberg was the artistic director of the Hessian State Theatre.[1][2] From the 2024/25 season, Dorothea Hartmann and Beate Heine will form a dual leadership as artistic directors.
