Much smaller than its Brussels namesake, but just as charming. Until 2005, it was an open meadow, stretching from Weibroekdreef to the notary's house on Bellemstraat. Back then, an annual cyclocross race was held here (on Boxing Day). Since then, the meadow has been transformed into a residential park with apartments in a green setting with a pond.

The Teerlingmolen was a stone windmill dating from 1854. It replaced a wooden oil mill called "Den Teirlinck." The miller's house was also preserved until 2005. Situated on a small hill, at approximately 23 meters above sea level, one of the highest points in Aalter, in an otherwise completely open meadow known as "de warande," the mill and house together formed an almost iconic landmark in Aalter. In the sales report of May 1833, the Teerlingmolen is described as follows: "A beautiful oil windmill, with a comfortable house and warehouse, barn and stables ... courtyard and orchard, all surrounded by hedgerows ... northeast of the church and the village, bordering the lands of the Marquis de Rodes, the Count de Merode, and a processional road." In 1882, a steam engine was put into operation. The mill's appearance changed drastically: the sails and cap were removed, the mill body was given a new cap, and a stone outbuilding was built against the body, with an adjacent tall chimney for the steam engine. The steam mill served as a grain mill. From 1924, the Teerlingmolen was used as a warehouse. During World War II, the mill body was used as a lookout tower. The observation or firing openings at the level of the former window openings date from this period. In 1965, the mill body was converted into a lookout tower, designed by architect A.E. Cocquyt. After the collapse of the flour loft in 1968, which resulted in one fatality, the mill remained closed to the public. The chapel was built in 1950, "as a token of gratitude for the sparing of the residents of this district during the war years and the days of liberation". Between May and October 1917, Mary is said to have appeared six times to the three shepherd children (Sister) Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta near the Portuguese town of Fátima. Especially shortly after the Second World War, the veneration of this Marian figure took off: processions were organized and numerous chapels were founded. This chapel is located on the corner of Sint-Maria-Aalterstraat and Fatimastraat.

A homestead was built in the Manewaarde district around 1630 by Glaude Damas junior. That farm included approximately 9 hectares of land, forest and meadow. The arable land was located east of the homestead in an area that had previously been cultivated. The farm itself had an area of 2.4 hectares and was bordered on the heath to the west. Isabella-Theresia Damas, daughter of Glaude, married esquire Emmanuel De Vulder, lord of Westdijke. They stayed at their 'casteelgoet' where most of their children were born. A significant part of the heath and the worst land had become wooded between 1733 and 1765. The now existing straight lane to Nobelstede was constructed before 1765. The castle was bought by Roman De Wulf in 1899. He had the castle thoroughly renovated, but its appearance remains unchanged to this day. He only had a small square tower added. The interior of the church, like the church building itself, has a predominantly neo-Gothic character. The patron saint is Saint Cornelius. There are 18th and 19th century gravestones against the north facade. Next to the church, a cross-shaped monument commemorates the fallen military and civilian victims of the First World War.
