The monumental building of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Office is one of the most recognizable and representative buildings in Szczecin. The neo-Renaissance complex of buildings was built according to the concept of Paul Kieszke and the design of Lehmgrübner in the years 1906-1911. The main central building consists of five wings, with two rectangular courtyards inside. It has two towers with a height of approx. 60 m. The southern one is topped with a helm with the figure of a sailor leaning on an anchor. The northern one, called the sailor's tower, was used to hang navigation signs until the last war, and the ball falling at high noon signaled the crews of ships in the port exactly 12:00. In the southern tower with the sailor crowning it, plaster casts of all the carved details of the facade were placed, in case they had to be recreated due to destruction. The architecture of the building, including its exterior design, has survived virtually unchanged to this day.

Currently, the building at 47 Małopolska Street is one of the most interesting monuments of mature historicism in Pomerania, whose architectural forms clearly refer to the high and late northern European Gothic. The neo-Gothic complex of buildings of the Police Presidium was erected in the years 1902-1905. The former police presidium was a basement, four-storey building with a usable attic and a massive, five-storey tower at the corner of the streets. The buildings were covered with high roofs: a gable roof over the three-winged body, and a higher, hipped roof with a ridge over the tower. Dormers were placed in the roof slope. The picturesque shape was diversified by a high, massive tower topped with a pointed polygonal dome with a spire, numerous shallow projections with high gables, and bay windows. All elevations were designed as asymmetric. The elevations facing the street received a rich architectural setting. The elevations facing the courtyard were characterized by greater asymmetry and irregularity.

The facility at Łasztownia in Szczecin is a multimedia scientific and educational facility, the main objective of which is to present physical experiments related to water. The center will be equipped with a permanent exhibition, containing interactive elements of science and technology. A special and unique attraction is the planetarium, which can accommodate an audience of 60 people.

Although the area in front of the Philharmonic Hall and the police station was built up until the destruction of the Second World War, the open space now known as Plac Solidarnósci is a historically important site in the city's recent history. In 1970, a demonstration was shot down by police here; among the 16 killed were bystanders, such as the young woman who watched the events from her room window. A sculpture of an angel and a memorial plaque in the square commemorate these sad events. To better convey these and other moments of recent history—after Gdansk, Szczecin was the center of the Solidarity trade union in the early 1980s—the "Centrum Dialogu Przelomy" (Centre for Dialogue in Przelomy) was built beneath the square. Before 1945, it was also called the Anklam Gate. It is a late baroque gate that was built by Gerhard Cornelius von Walrave in place of a medieval gate in the city wall immediately after the Prussian takeover of Stettin in 1720. During the Second World War, the baroque figures and reliefs were dismantled and hidden in the Stettin city forest - Eckerberger Forest - where they survived the destruction of Stettin unscathed. They were not discovered until 1957, and the gate was subsequently reconstructed. Since then, it has housed an art gallery, the Brama Jazz Cafe club, and since 2017, a chocolate-drinking restaurant from Wedel.
