This waterfall above Steinenbrügli is a wonderfully beautiful place. I went there a lot as a child because I lived nearby. The things I experienced there... There's also a small nature reserve with a canal running parallel to the Frenke (that's the name of the stream). There's so much to discover. Below the waterfall, about 50 meters away, there are gravel banks when the water level is low, which invite you to linger and enjoy the peace and quiet...🔆

The Baslerweier is an artificial lake that served as a drinking water supply for Basel for 70 years from 1870. Today it belongs to the canton of Solothurn and is a nature reserve. A true idyll!

Magical spot in the woods by the Frenke - perfect for a break or a paddle. An arched stone bridge crosses the river here, and the bubbling waters descend a series of small falls.

The Nuglar viewpoint offers cyclists a serene spot to admire views of the Basel region and the Jura hills. The road to this lookout point passes through orchards, vineyards and peaceful small farms, making for an idyllic ride with moderate climbs that reward you with a sense of accomplishment at the top. From the viewpoint, you can see picturesque villages nestled among fields and forests, with the distant Black Forest on the horizon.

Always good for refueling with water. Perfect.
