The Soviet War Cemetery in Blumberg, municipality of Ahrensfelde, is a burial place for 167 Soviet soldiers who fell in the fighting on the Berlin ring road in April 1945. There is a monument on site with a Red Army soldier as flag bearer on a pedestal.

The Wuhle hiking trail is probably one of the most beautiful trails in Berlin.

The approximately 0.1 hectare Eastern Gehrensee Pond is located directly on the border path on the border between Berlin and Brandenburg. Together with the Gehrensee and the Western Gehrensee Pond, it forms a small chain of lakes along the Gehrenseegraben. The pond is accessible on the northern bank and there is a shady bench right on the bank.

From 1982 to 1989, the area up to Ahrensfelder Chaussee was surrounded by a wall and watchtowers; a branch of the GDR Ministry of the Interior was located here. A barracks of the People's Police, a prison service and a dog squad were also housed here. A dam that partially surrounded the area, which was hermetically sealed during the GDR era, was incorporated into the Gehrensee Landscape Park as a striking element and ends with this viewing platform. It can be reached via a staircase and a ramp on the west side; a path was laid out on the crest of the dam. The concrete elements on the south side are supposed to be seating🤔?

Due to changing amounts of precipitation and increasing development in neighboring areas, the Gehrensee regularly dries out. However, since it is important for the amphibians that live here, such as the fire-bellied toad, smooth newt, great crested newt and various toad species, the lake is fed with additional water. However, the vegetation has now grown so densely that it is unfortunately not possible to see the lake from the viewing platform.
