STF's Sårjåsjaure Fjällstuga impresses with its location. Located directly on a lake from which a mighty waterfall rushes into the valley. The mountains of Norway can be seen behind the lake. If the hut is occupied or too small, you can camp very nicely on the lake shore with a dream backdrop. There is also a small outhouse at the hut.

STF's Sårjåsjaure Fjällstuga is also known as "Konsul Perssons stuga" because the pit owner in Sulitjelma had this hut built for his daughter. The hut is very small (2 beds) and one should not count on getting a place here. Gisuris Fjällstuga is managed by a Sami interest group and is usually open to hikers from early July to early September. There is also a small shop with a few groceries. Occasionally, freshly smoked fish is also offered – definitely try it!

This interesting rock formation is located right on the edge of the path and seems strangely out of place in this landscape. A great photo opportunity!

You have to get a key beforehand

Wide but shallow ford on the Duottarstugorna. If the water level is particularly low, you can even get over larger stones without getting your feet wet. Wading shoes are advantageous due to their width and thus long periods of time in the water. The ford is marked on both sides and on an island with poles and stones, but you can deviate a little without danger.

Here, the expanse can be experienced through the elevated location. The view over the Sami settlement leaves room for the imagination as to how one can live here in this immediate tranquility.
