A few meters along the Hase are always beautiful, today the sheep were the highlight.

A school was first mentioned in 1696. The building was probably built in 1838. It was renovated in 2012/2013. A sign on the building provides information about its history.

What is the significance of the Liars' Bridge? ❓ Built in 1859, it is the first cast-iron bridge in Southeastern Europe and is very popular in Romania. It is popularly known as the "Liars' Bridge" because it is said to collapse as soon as a liar steps on it. The structure, located in the center of the medieval city, has a span of 10.5 meters.

The Hohe Pforte (High Gate) in Quakenbrück is the only surviving city gate in the city. It was built in 1485 and originally served as one of five gates providing access to the city. The Hohe Pforte (High Gate) was the northern exit and was built on wooden piles with rubble stone. The gate, with its Baroque bell tower, has four floors, with the lowest floor being an open passageway. The original Romanesque basket arches were replaced in the mid-19th century with taller Gothic pointed arches to accommodate larger vehicles. The gate has a fascinating history, having also served as a prison for quarrelsome women and as a city jail. Don't be surprised, but more is better. On both sides of the bridge there is a statue of the "bridge saint" John of Nepomuk. The people of Herzlak are playing it safe ;-)
