The 18-meter-high tower is considered a symbol of Lohne's elevation to town status. It is located on a hill in Lohne's city forest. It was built in 1908 by the Beautification Association, the forerunner of today's local history association, as a visible sign of the new dignity. The tower is a listed building, was extensively renovated in 1996 and was repainted in 2013. When the visibility is good, you can enjoy views as far as Quakenbrück and Cloppenburg. The highlight is not the tower but the mountain. The uphill is best when coming from the north or east. There are many beautiful single trails leading down here, sometimes steeper with a drop at the start, sometimes flowier, sometimes rootier. There's something for everyone, just give it a try.

Nice rest area with benches and table at the edge of the forest of the Dammer Berge with a view of Dalinghausen as well as towards the Western Dümmer lowlands and the Dümmer.
