After my retirement, I had a lot of free time, but the feeling of loneliness also grew stronger. Friends were gone, and children were busy with their families. Beautiful viewing summit located directly on the cantonal border between Bern and Valais.

The ascent to the Arpelistock (3035m) 🏔️ is a challenging and rewarding adventure for experienced mountaineers, which can also be completed in two days. Start your tour at Lake Lauenen and follow the marked path through beautiful alpine pastures and dense forests 🌲. The path becomes increasingly steeper and rockier, requires surefootedness and good fitness 🥾. On the first day you can climb to the Geltenhütte SAC, where you can spend the night 🛏️. This cozy mountain hut offers an ideal place to rest and allows you to gather new strength. The next morning you continue your ascent to the summit of the Arpelistock. The last few meters are particularly challenging, but the effort is worth it: once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama 🌄. Enjoy the view of the surrounding Bernese and Valais Alps as well as the impressive mountain massif.
