St. John's Church in Liebenstein was built in 1841 by Duke Ernst of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, replacing an earlier structure. In April 1945, American artillery fire destroyed the tower, which was rebuilt in 1961.

The Röderschlösschen (Röder Castle) was built around 1750 by Baron von Röder, who only used it for a year. In 1850, it came into the possession of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who used it as his headquarters. The building was later used as an administrative building and prison until 1920. Today, it houses the municipal office, the local history museum, the library, and a meeting room.

In September 2012, the local council decided to close the forest pool. The municipality's financial situation no longer allowed the forest pool to continue operating. On June 9, 2017, the Geschwenda Forest Pool Association was founded.

The Gänseteich in the beautiful Thuringian Forest is a great place to linger and relax, and the Parrteich is also not far away. Benches and tables for picnics are available. The pond and the surrounding area are well maintained.
