In the Bättmerhitta, it is easy to linger in the rustic mountain hut atmosphere and thoroughly enjoy the fine Valais specialties. We know from hearsay that many guests take the Fiescheralp-Bettmeralp hiking trail specifically for the unique, impressively sized cream slices - the Bättmerhitta is right on the route. The opening times of the Bättmerhitta depend on the weather. In bad weather, we therefore recommend consulting the restaurant beforehand. The villa was built for Sir Ernest Cassel, a British banker from Cologne in Germany and financial advisor to King Edward VII, and was inaugurated in 1902. Since 1904, Winston Churchill also stayed in the villa and the adjacent chalet several times.
