With panoramic views of 18 four-thousand-meter peaks, it is one of the most beautifully situated mountain huts in Valais. It is the starting point for the four-thousand-meter peaks Weissmies and Lagginhorn, the nearly four-thousand-meter Fletschhorn, the sport climbing routes on the Jegihorn South Face, the highest via ferrata in the Alps, and the Gspon High Trail.

Great view of the Riedgletscher and the Nadelgrat, a cozy hut and an incredibly friendly hut team! The hut access was renovated in 2023 and is now marked in red and white and no longer leads over the glacier.

This year (August 2022) the cabin was not accessible through Felskinn. Only option from Saas-Fee via Morenia: steep climb via Egginerjoch then descend a bit and again steep climb to the hut. But well worth it.
