The Glecksteinhütte is a refuge of the Burgdorf section of the Swiss Alpine Club. It lies at 2317 m above sea level. M. southwest of the Wetterhorn near Grindelwald. It is open all year round, but only staffed from mid-June to mid-September. The Glecksteinhütte has been expanded several times and is the Berghotel Gleckstein of yesteryear, built in 1908. It offers a terrace with a view and soups, various rösti's and cheese slices are freshly prepared every day. The popular dried meat, cheese or salad plates don't come off the production line either. Homemade cakes, nut or almond croissants are also on offer. An ibex colony often visits the hut in the evening! From the terrace you have a wonderful view of Grindelwald and the upper Grindelwald Glacier.
