In December 1846 the railway reached Weimar as the second construction phase of the Thuringian Railway coming from Halle (Saale). In the following years, the extensions towards Eisenach and Bebra went into operation. Since the 1960s, the ZEB Processing Heichelheim agricultural production company began not only cultivating, but also processing regional potatoes into traditional Thuringian dumplings and buffers. It later became today's ABLIG Feinfrost GmbH with the Heichelheimer brand. In the museum you can see historical and current information about the Thuringian dumpling as well as ice cream production (the ice cream Hexenkerze and Hexenkuss was produced here) and old GDR vehicles.
