Pointe de la Crèche is a nature reserve located at the northern entrance of Boulogne-sur-Mer. It is a protected area of landscape and cultural interest, made up of three parts: the point itself, the cliff and the plateaus, the natural and semi-natural meadows through which the coastal path passes, the old quarry now turned into a pond, and the fortress of La Crèche, a military heritage of the 19th century.

=> The lake before 2005: Until the 2000s, the lake was a place intended for leisure, with the possibility of pedal boating and fishing in the lake. Around it were a creperie, a refreshment bar, an arcade games room, a few rides and a small train. Avenue Charlemagne ran along the lake and then allowed a direct automobile connection between the west of Condette and the Hardelot station. => The lake since 2008: The lake underwent a major redevelopment between 2005 and 2008 to restore its natural appearance from the beginning of the 19th century1. It is today the heart of the Condette marsh regional nature reserve, an area classified in 2009. The 35 hectares which make it up are thus set up for walking, and provisions have been put in place to protect and enhance the the very varied fauna and flora that it shelters. At the same time, Avenue Charlemagne became the “Chemin du Lac” and was closed to automobile traffic, first in one direction of traffic (decree taken in 20071) then in both (in 2013), lengthening travel times of 2 to 7 minutes between Écault or the west of Condette, and Hardelot. Today, the place is of significant tourist and educational interest.
