Always a beautiful destination! With information board, bench and table, summit cross and summit book. Only the view is slowly getting darker.

The fountain is located in the archers' practice area. Therefore, you MUST stay on the paths and it's best to only walk through them when no one is training.

The view of the Main Valley and the Staffelberg has now become overgrown again.

A really beautiful little fountain, built in 1938. Unfortunately there are no signs at all and you just have to "ask" for the fountain and trudge a bit through the forest 😉

At information board 3, the steep ascent to the left up to the rock plateau is worthwhile. The field name here is lime kiln. There is much to suggest that lime was burned here in earlier times and was transported away via a clearly visible ramp. The strategic location above the formerly dammed Biberbach and the modeling of the terrain indicate a settlement as well as the existence of a castle that could have protected the ore mining on the opposite Eisenberg. In the former quarry there is a quite sandy cave. A certain "Titus" is said to have hid here before being drafted during the First World War. (Source: https://www.obermain.de)

The Hohe Asslitz is a sandy hill in the middle of a large forest area between the Coburg region and the Obermain valley. From its 378 meters high there is a clear view again today. Reason enough that the HINTERINDIEN.DE tour, which originally immigrated in March 2011, has been updated again in 2021. Because this mountain, which remained in a deep slumber for years, has now been "awakened" again. It forms the center of a pleasantly quiet local recreation area. And because the forests on the summit of the Hohe Asslitz have now been thinned out a bit, since 2016 you can finally enjoy the views of the Obermaintal, the Staffelberg, the Veste Coburg and even the Blessberg in the Thuringian Forest.
