In July, the largest lake in the Schaichtal is almost overgrown with a green dress of aquatic plants.

At the time after the rain it was very difficult to get directly to the water.

Hiking trails from all four directions lead to this remarkable reservoir, which can remain as it is. The conversion measures were discarded.

It's always nice to stop by here, no matter what the season. Luckily, plans to build a bridge across the lake were finally scrapped.

A small water staircase/waterfall is awesome

Nice to drive, very long asphalt road through the forest.

Ideal for cycling or hiking breaks. The bank is right by the pond with its many water lilies and all kinds of animals. Among other things, coots breed here and there are a lot of frogs. Opposite, on the other side of the pond, there is another bench, which is a little higher up and offers a view of the pond from above. The asphalted path is an old railway line that was originally used by the Siebenmühlentalbahn, which was closed in 1956. The current, well-developed path is federal property and is therefore also called the "Federal Hiking Trail". The path leads from Burkhardtsmühle in Aichtal (between Waldenbuch and Aichtal-Neuenhaus) up to Leinfelden-Musberg. The gradient is moderate and lies between 0% and 1% over the entire route, making it easy to ride uphill even with a bio-bike. The good surface is also ideal for inline skating. The total length of the route between Burkhardtsmühle and Musberg is around 8 km.
