On an 18,000 square meter former factory site, almost 450 rose species and varieties are presented to the visitor. The collection of Bad Langensalza roses is particularly worth seeing for its grace and diversity – between 1950 and 1990, 91 rose varieties were bred here alone.

Around 80,000 rose bushes from over 8000 types of roses can be admired in the Risarium. Each rose has a name with the year of grafting, even well-known personalities have given their name to this rose. The Europa-Rosarium in Sangerhausen has the largest collection of roses in the world, founded in 1903 by Albert Hoffmann. Even now, in the low season, many roses are still in their second bloom.
