Valuable, now very rare, light mixed oak forests have developed in the dune edge areas, which are also of great importance from a species protection perspective. This place is worth a trip

I live in Verden and my daily walk goes through the Verden city forest and I think it's a shame that despite the ban, the dunes are entered and dogs run around freely. And the nature reserve with the rare plants and insects will be destroyed!😣

The area is similar to the NSG "Besenhorster Sandberge" west of Geesthacht on the Elbe. In these areas, vegetation-free sandy areas alternate in a mosaic with heath-like terrain and picturesque groups of trees. The type and time of origin are also the same.

Like a small desert landscape in the middle of the green... worth it!
