The Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor nature reserve near Füchtenfeld is part of a European bird sanctuary. Large parts of the 1580 hectare moor have been drained and are already re-watered. These wetlands can regenerate and, with their wild and raised moorland-typical flora, offer perfect protection for waders and meadow birds. Lapwings, redshanks and the rare golden plover in particular, as well as teals and curlews, find ideal breeding conditions here. From a viewing hill and a viewing tower, you can enjoy a peaceful view of the nature reserve.
