This bridge offers a beautiful view of two lakes: the Schaalsee on one side and the Kirchensee on the other. It is part of the approximately 4 km circular trail around the Kirchensee.

Pure nature! Idyllically located. We passed the lake on our hike to Lake Salem.

The bridge construction is finished and the new bridge turned out really nice.

Current report from the Zarrentin office: The Strangendamm will be completely closed from October 31st, 2022 to March 3rd, 2023 due to the construction of the new bridge.

The wheelchair-accessible moor adventure path through the lime flat moor begins directly behind the PAHLHUUS, which was completely renewed in 2018 and provided with a handrail. The moorland adventure trail is around 800 m long and was generously designed so that it can also be used by wheelchair users and families with prams. Unfortunately, it is not completely barrier-free. The information boards do not contain any alternative offers for the blind and deaf.

At the southern end of the Schaalsee is the information center of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee, the Pahlhuus, where visitors can find out more about the area in a free nature exhibition. Admission is free. Right next to it, on the moor nature trail with great wooden plank paths, you can learn a lot of interesting things about moors, the oldest of which only arose around 12,000 years ago. After the approx. 800m long boardwalk, you can add another approx. 2.5 km long tour through the beautiful nature.
