This is the northernmost point of the Schaalsee. It is a good place to take a break as there are benches and tables there. If it is warm enough you can also go swimming.

The “Eternal Pond” area is part of a hollow that is drained to varying degrees and is partly moss-covered and is sunk into the Weichselian ground moraine. Due to its former location in the inner-German border area, the area was completely inaccessible for a long time. The nature reserve offers protected habitat for a large diversity of flora and fauna, including many species of dragonflies, grasshoppers and birds, as well as a particularly pronounced diversity of vegetation. It is also a hunting ground for marsh harriers, common buzzards and white storks. The NSG "Eternal Pond" represents a connecting axis between different biotopes.
