Located in the southern Aller glacial valley ( Fahler Heide or Gifhorner Schweiz nature reserve ), the roots (witch trees) are just behind the heath car park. Beautifully exposed roots. With a sign that is actually understandable for all generations: "Please do not play with them to destroy them." It's worth a stop. The roots are fascinating. There is a shelter and benches. It's definitely worth it. That looks pretty impressive. A nice place for a rest. It's probably full here on weekends. There is very little going on during the week.

Tranquil at low tide, more exciting at high tide! Aller and Oker only meet behind the weir! The weir was completely restored in 2006, especially the mechanical systems. The 14 wooden bulkheads can be opened and closed independently of each other. The lock was built in 1880 and cost around 100,000 marks at the time! The side cheeks and the oval central part consist of large, hewn blocks of sandstone. The fish staircase in Müden/Aller was rebuilt in 2003 and invites you to take a break at the nearby Oker weir! The weir can be crossed on foot or by bike.
