The waters in the area of the Babina mine are acidic. Their pH value varies between 2.6 and 3.7. The water is clear and has fascinating colors. For further explanations, see the information boards: “A natural chemistry laboratory” and “Colorful lakes, acidic at that.”

There is a wooden walkway next to a tiny depression in the ground where there is water. No iron bacterial blooms or mineral deposits were visible during my visit.
