We used to meet up on our mopeds and practice off-roading in the old sandstone quarries that produced the building materials for Halberstadt's houses and churches. Of course, we had to be careful of the police and incurred a few ten-euro fines. Since hardly anyone gets a moped license these days, cyclists have taken over the area.

Beautiful scenery but it is slowly becoming overgrown.

Now the quarry is flooded with water.

Walk the route beforehand! The drops are very demanding and should not be jumped by beginners. Otherwise a great route 🤙🏽
