Very nice, interesting and easy-to-drive circular route around Lake Murner. Many well-made information boards, a barefoot path, the tertiary forest and the observation tower are, among other things, the highlights on the circuit. There is always a beautiful view over the lake and the adjacent ponds.

The four largest lakes, Steinberger See, Murner See, Brückelsee and Knappensee, form the heart of the Upper Palatinate Lake District; in total there are over 2,000 ponds and 300 lakes. Lake Steinberger offers countless opportunities for relaxation, sport and leisure, the most outstanding being the adventure wooden ball, the largest of its kind in the world. From its viewing platform at a height of around 40 meters you have a wonderful view of the lake and the surrounding area.

With the Brückelsee, as well as the Murner and the Steinberger See, the Upper Palatinate has 3 beautiful large leisure lakes with numerous leisure activities. The lakes are former lignite mining areas that have been flooded.

The circular hiking trail is signposted from Pertolzhofen a GPX track to download. If you want to get to the Stone of Eternity and the Tanzacker sculptures on a trekking or city bike, you should start the detour in Pertolzhofen and turn around at the sculptures and return to Pertolzhofen. You need an MTB for the circular hike. Quite deep ruts in some sections pose a risk of falling and after the tour you may have to clean a little more than usual.
