Rosenau alluvial fan > a geotope (excerpt from the Bavarian Environmental Atlas) The Rosenau alluvial fan is a flat, Holocene gravel cone that lies only slightly above the surrounding terrain, but has hardly any soil cover and is clearly separated from the surrounding agriculturally used floodplain areas in terms of vegetation (poor grassland). The gravel cone probably belongs to older Holocene gravel sequences that were no longer reached by later floods. Due to the weir system and the run-of-river power plant, the Isar is dammed up to form a large reservoir. The dyke system offers a wonderful view over the dammed river, which is also a real paradise for birds.

The Isar Cycle Path runs on a fairly good, varied surface, ranging from fine gravel to asphalt, and offers repeated beautiful views of the Isar River. Between Dingolfing and Landau, in addition to the historic Isar bridges, you can also see the river's renaturalization, Isar reservoirs, and weirs. You can also admire sights such as the Widder (Widder Rock) and the "Wachsender Felsen" (Growing Rock).
