Probably nowhere else is the holy Wolfsindis known than in the Reisbach area. The altar stands directly above the spring that is said to have sprung up when around 600 AD, when St. Wolfsindis was left lying here after being dragged to death by a horse. Many sick people have received healing here, especially for eye diseases.

Due to the weir system and the run-of-river power plant, the Isar is dammed up to form a large reservoir. The dyke system offers a wonderful view over the dammed river, which is also a real paradise for birds.
