An information board with a map shows the renaturation measures that have taken place along the Schreiberbach east of Unterbernbach. Some areas of the meadow were still under water, although the last rains were a long time ago. It doesn't seem to be about rice cultivation ;)

The moss level is also an important indicator of climate change: the surface sinks because the water content of the moss is also constantly decreasing. Unfortunately, this also reduces CO2 storage. The Donaumoos development plan is intended to counteract this at least in part; i.e. drainage should be stopped in selected areas. What the local farmers think about this can be read on some posters in the moss😳🤔.

The tree is very impressive with about 3m trunk diameter. Unfortunately a bit rotten.

The Donaumoospegel is located in Ludwigsmoos on the estate, Ludwigstraße 88, and has shown the bog sack since 1836 (approx. 2.80 m until 2003). Today one assumes an annual bog bag of 1.5 cm per year.
