What must it have been like to stand on a 20-meter-high platform on the city wall, while all the onlookers waited for you to jump and fly like a bird over the Danube? How must the 'Tailor of Ulm' have felt on the day of his failed attempt at flying? Imagine it and put yourself in Berblinger's shoes. At the former jumping-off point at the Eagle Bastion, the 'Berblinger Tower', which is inclined at 10 degrees, is accessible. The spiral staircase winds its way dizzyingly upwards, step by step. At the top, looking down at the ground, you'll notice that the steps, both in construction and color, are inspired by Berblinger's flying machine. Six loudspeakers attached to the sculpture transform the climb into an audio experience. The tower was built in honor of Albrecht Ludwig Berblinger, who went down in history as a tailor, inventor, and aviation pioneer.
